Bloedbruid

Bloedbruit, the second single from the upcoming album DE TYFUS DE TEERLING by Dutch necro rockers Grafjammer, to be released on January 10th 2025!
"Bloedbruid" means 'Bloodbride' and tells about Janske Gorissen. A young sickly women from the Dutch town of Welberg who in the 20's and 30's of the previous century claimed that she had visions in which she was regularly visited by Jesus and Maria and a host of angels. While experiencing stigmata and profusely bleeding from the eyes. She also told that devil sometimes tried to rape her.
The local priest soon saw an enterprise in this and turned Welberg into a Lourdes of the North and a hotspot of religious madness. Janske came to be known as the Bride of Jesus, always dressed in a white weddinggown at the centre or a large Catholic cult.
When rumours of fraud, debauchery and a sexual relation between Jansje and her priest began to surface even the Vatican decided that enough was enough. The whole business was swiftly hushed and covered up, never to be talked about again.
