Description

"Witchfinder" is based on real events in Essex during the Witch Trials of the 1600's. Essex is the worldwide capital of the archetypal Witch Hunt. This county is where the self-annointed Witchfinder General, Matthew Hopkins, became the figurehead of an explosion in domestic murder and religious fear. This is a sad and dark page in the bloodied history of Essex, the home of Beyond Extinction, the county of three swords, now dragged back to life low and slow.

A special thank you to Harry Barratt and Saskia Young for their hard work and skills bringing our version of this story to the screen throughout this video.

LYRICS:
Gallows built from old, sullen trees tell a story of fear, the people in panic and horror.
Sprouting from wombs, a satanic terror harboured by worms in their guts.
Unchangeable in putridity.
Pyres light the night sky, red glow grows in the east.
Illuminate a portrait of the clouds.
The glare of the storm is harsher than before.
This ground has been claimed by the witchfinder.
Don’t test the holy word.
Live quietly in your tiny homes.
Digging grains out from husks with your dirty fingernails - become the fire itself
Pyres light the night sky, red glow grows in the east
Illuminate a portrait of the clouds.
The glare of the storm is harsher than before.
This ground has been claimed by the witchfinder.
The tumor removed.
Rotten like the fruits.
Dragged to their graves in every conceivable way
Magistrate and justice, carry my word.
The passion in culling the herd.
